claude.dev Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of claude.dev (the “Site”), which is operated by Anthropic, PBC (“Anthropic,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Site.

These terms cover only the Site. Your use of Claude, the Claude API, or any other Anthropic product is governed by that product’s own terms.

1. Code samples

Code samples on the Site are licensed under the MIT License unless a sample says otherwise. When you copy a sample, keep the copyright and license notice as the MIT License requires.

2. Other content

All other content on the Site belongs to Anthropic or its licensors. This includes articles, images, video, and design. You may read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of it with attribution. You may not otherwise copy, republish, or sell it without our written permission. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these terms.

3. Trademarks

“Anthropic,” “Claude,” and related names and logos are trademarks of Anthropic. These terms grant you no right to use them. Other marks on the Site belong to their owners.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Site in a way that breaks the law, interferes with the Site’s operation, tries to get unauthorized access to our systems, or falsely suggests that Anthropic endorses you.

5. Content is informational

Content on the Site is for general information only. It may be out of date or incomplete, and some of it may have been drafted with AI assistance. Test any code before you rely on it.

The Site links to sites and services we don’t control, such as Discord, Reddit, and X. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through the Site, including newsletter sign-ups.

8. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANTHROPIC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED US$100.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will show when we did. If you use the Site after an update, you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by, and construed and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the State of California without giving effect to conflict of law principles. You and Anthropic agree that any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you and Anthropic submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of those courts. By accessing the Site, you waive any claims that may arise under the laws of other jurisdictions.
